Who are we?
As part of the Americold (previously Agromerchants) group employing over 360 people in Whitchurch, Shropshire we provide third party storage and distribution for ambient, chilled and frozen products within the food sector for a wide customer base of manufacturers, wholesale and retailers throughout the UK and into Europe.
Occupying a 36 acre site, our storage facilities provide 175,000 storage locations and with our own fleet of 65 tractor units and 120 vehicles servicing over 8,000 delivery points throughout the UK and Europe. As a business, we offer a number of other third party activities to ensure we provide an efficient, effective and sustainable service to the food sector.
Why did we become MMBEn supporters?
Initially to have open discussions with likeminded businesses within a local network that have similar challenges, ensuring legislative demand is achieved but also developing and investing its commitment to the local environment including native habitat and wildlife within its site.

We have been provided with greater access and an understanding of environmental issues across a wide spectrum. As well as improved access to other working groups and the ability to share ideas with how companies have overcome similar challenges. We have also gained access to environmental studies, alternatives and new initiatives which may have not been explored previously and finally, a greater understanding of the meres and mosses, its heritage and what the future holds for this important heritage.
